I conducted the first extragalactic pulsar searches with the MeerKAT radio telescope. My survey has increased the total extragalactic pulsar population by 25%.
I have also increased the number of characterised extragalactic pulsars by 40% through pulsar timing, and discovered very rare extragalactic Vela-like glitching neutron stars powering pulsar wind nebulae.
Currently, I am using this augmented sample of extragalactic pulsars to understand the impact of galactic environment on a population of neutron stars.
