I am currently a Physics PhD student at the University of Western Australia (UWA), where I began my doctoral studies in 2024. Prior to this, I completed a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) at UWA, graduating in 2023 with a double degree in Mathematics & Statistics and Physics, with first class honours in Physics.
My PhD research focuses on the effects of external matter on binary black hole mergers, particularly the observable effects of mergers in dense astrophysical environments such as active galactic nuclei. I am investigating how the astrophysical environment influences the gravitational wave signal and other potential multi-messenger signals that arise from the interaction between merging black holes and surrounding matter. I am interested in how this information can be used to improve tests of fundamental physics with gravitational waves, such as tests of general relativity, and cosmology.
