Paul is a PhD student at Monash University, currently working on (binary) neutron star kicks and their effect on gravitational wave and gamma-ray burst signals. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s, both in Astrophysics and Philosophy of Science, at Radboud University in The Netherlands, where he has researched topics such as binary black hole masses, the systemic kicks of binary neutron stars, and the metallicity dependence of long gamma-ray bursts.
