governance advisory committee

The Centre’s Governance Advisory Committee comprises prominent representatives from the Australian education, research, engineering and business sectors. The Governance Advisory Committee is responsible for advising on OzGrav's: research focus, strategic direction, structure and operating principles, and intellectual property and commercialisation management. The Committee is chaired by Prof Ian Young, who has previously held Vice Chancellor roles at both ANU and Swinburne.

Chair, Governance Advisory Committee
Prof Young is Kernot Professor of Engineering at the University of Melbourne, Chief Executive with Conviro Pty Ltd and President, Cloud Campus Pty Ltd. He was previously Vice-Chancellor at the ANU from 2011 to 2016 and Vice-Chancellor of Swinburne University of Technology from 2003 to 2011.

Dr Pearce's roles have included Acting Chief Scientist of CSIRO, Director on the AAL Board, and Deputy Director of CSIRO Astronomy & Space Science (CASS).

Dr Clark ​ has an outstanding career both in Australia and internationally. His experience ranges across a spectrum of industries from IT and communications to media, space and finance

Prof Tamara Davis
Vice-Chancellor of Research and Teaching Fellow, University of Queensland 
Prof Davis studies dark energy, dark matter, and competing theories of gravity, involving string theory and quantum theories of gravity.

Dr Tanya Hill
Senior Curator, Melbourne Planetarium, Museum Victoria
Dr Hill develops new astronomy productions for the Melbourne Planetarium and creates opportunities for the general public to find out about astronomical events and learn of new discoveries about our Universe.

Dr Chiara Mingarelli 
Flatiron Institute's Center for Computational Astrophysics
Dr Mingarelli is a gravitational wave astrophysicist whose core research is focused on using Pulsar Timing Arrays to detect low-frequency gravitational waves, with forays into electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational-wave events, such as fast radio bursts.

Dr John O'Sullivan
Dr O'Sullivan is a radio astronomer with expertise in electronics and image and signal processing, and he worked with the CSIRO team on the invention of WiFi.
